Bar Interior Design | Vinoteca Bar Mahatsa Huarte| Navarra | Spain Designed By Bguiristain Bergera

The interior layout is dictated by the geometry of the local plant, characterized by trails to the street facades that emphasize its status as an intern and three pillars aligned. The public use area is housed in a rectangular, glass enclosures bounded by the two streets in their short sides, the dividing wall or partition wall with respect to another location to the west and a plane defined by the line of pillars to the east, coinciding with the location of the bar. All service functions, kitchen, toilets, storage and access, are accommodated in the remaining area between the said flat and the eastern boundary of the premises, very irregular. The fragmented, malleable condition of these parts serves the purpose of absorbing the vagaries of the geometry of that boundary, in favor of the proposed regular prismatic and serenity of lines and contours of the noble. The uniqueness of the proposal lies in the use made of a conventional ceramic bottle. It is backlit and fully occupies one of the vertical walls that limit local, coinciding with the area for public use. Its size and exposure accused give special importance, in line with local applications that combines bar and wine cellar. Serves as a warehouse, optimizing surface, gives character to the interior and provides effective demand from abroad, besides being a wonderful acoustic absorber. The natural counterpoint to the massive use of ceramic tiles and gypsum is found in the wood paneling on the opposite wall, hiding the service functions and integrates the exposure and access. A rigorous modulation evident in the exploded soil, wood and the facade, to link different faces, eliminates annoying solicitations and helps to integrate the pillars in the set......more

The Water tower | Meditation space | Designed By Rocha Tombal Architecten

Water tower
 2006-2008

On the outside nothing seems to have changed. The Water tower looks like it has been built in 1895. But if you enter the big round brick building you experience an enormous white sculpture; it stares at you inviting you into another world, that of meditation.
In the design for the narrow monumental water tower, where the creation of m2 for the new functions and the internal introduction of a fire escape forms the assignment, the legibility and respect for the monumental spaces become the biggest challenge and it’s most formidable quality.
The crucial starting-point has been the combination of all facilities with the closed staircase and the situation of this as a huge piece of furniture in the middle of the space as main structuring element.
The staircase which forms a meditative labyrinth climbing upwards forms the expression of the new functions and creates a route which offers varied experiences and triggers different emotions. At the same time it brings you to the climax of the tower: the steel tank where a cafeteria is placed. The new introduced form contrasts strongly with the existing. The staircase directs by its tight geometry and the gleaming white finishing, the attention to the hardness of the brickwork.
The most important ingredient for the experience of the space is the use of light. By “rings of light” between old and new walls; led spots in the floors which, like little stars, seem to bring you into another dimension or indirect lightening, each space gets another color nuance and pronounced environment. Exciting in the stair case, intimate in the meditation rooms, serene in the water tank....more

Educational Interior Design | Blij-Land nursery Designed By Rocha Tombal Architecten

Blij-Land nursery
2007-2008

The Childcare centre presents itself to the passenger through a giant show window. The playroom functions as a “street” next to a street with the long glass wall in between. The entrance distinguishes itself by its dark inside, like a cut volume. Here, the children can draw their own sketches on the anthracite walls. Entered inside one discovers a clear long closet wall across the width of the building. Here, coats, shoes and baskets are stored. Through small openings one catches a glimpse of what is happening inside and discovers that each group by means of different colours has its own identity. This identity is reinforced by the glass display case next to the entrances of the various group areas, where the children devise their own themes to present to the parents.
Behind the closet wall, the protected group areas are located on the garden side. Separate playing areas are formed by elevated stages, from where the children can behold the world through their own “castle”.....more
