Crush 29 is a 9000sf restaurant focused on wine. BCV’s concept for the Restaurant has yielded a solution for the exterior that reflects the restaurant’s connection to the Napa Valley with its Napa Valley Tufa stone facade. The centerpiece of the restaurant is the circular bar lighted by a sculptural element which is fashioned from thousands of mica disks, each unique in color and translucence. The interior continues the wine country theme with rounded booths fashioned like wine barrels, rustic stone walls and floors, and several fireplaces. Two wine caves serve as private function rooms for up to 50, and the wine library serves as a smaller private dining room. ........more

"Location: The 1950's the courtyard, just off the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore.
Hidden behind red painted aluminium doors that slide crisply and silently open for visitors crossing an electronic threshold in the outside courtyard, the sleek, slightly reflective walls are Ferrari red fibreglass... You can't see the shop behind the sliding doors until they open.
There, behind an adjacent second set of doors, is a pavilion. Also fitted out in red, and entirely empty except for low red fibreglass cubes that magically move back and forth apparently entirely of their own volition. it's uncompromising design, neither out-and-out architecture, nor quite an installation, but one that leaves its options open.".......more Extract from Domus (June 2001) by Lucy Bullivant.

The warren of cellular staff quarters was opened to create a central family room with boarded walls and an animated ceiling-scape and playful lighting. The MacBain Community Centre is a multi-stakeholder civic project that combines several community programs under one roof. A central lobby, with reception and snack bar, provides common access and views to several key building areas: the public library, gymnasium and swimming pools. The YMCA of Niagara operates the gymnasium, courts, fitness and aquatic centre for the City of Niagara Falls Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture. Multi-purpose facilities for community meeting and wellness functions are shared with Heart Niagara, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Niagara and the Coronation 50+ Seniors Centre. Also accessible from the lobby is a state-of-the-art branch of the Niagara Falls Public Library.
Built on a highly visible landfill area at the corner of Montrose and McLeod Road in Niagara Falls, the rejuvenated site now features re-naturalized areas, parkland, walking trails, children’s playground and skateboard park.
